Our treated-lumber carports are more durable and better-looking than the steel ones. That's our own line, and it's the reason people who could have bought a kit call us instead.
Chapter 01
Why timber beats a steel kit
A steel carport kit is fast and it's cheap, and it looks like exactly what it is: a kit, bolted together and dropped on a slab. Treated lumber costs more, but it's built to match the house rather than sit next to it as a separate metal structure, and it holds up to East Texas weather without the panels working loose the way steel does over years of wind.
We can carry the roofline through with matching soffit and fascia, marble accents and more, so the carport reads as part of the property instead of an add-on. Steel kits don't offer that option at all, which is a large part of why the line above is ours and not just marketing.

Built to your plans, not off a catalog page
M Katherine Walten came to us with specific plans and pictures of the carport she wanted, a large combination of wood and metal, and we worked from her design rather than steering her toward a standard layout. That's typical of how a carport gets built here. If you already know the footprint and the roofline you want, bring it to the estimate.
A few months after that build, something needed a small adjustment. She wrote that we responded to the problem and found a solution, which is the part of the review that matters more than the build itself. A structure standing outside in weather for years will eventually need a look, and the answer is to go fix it.
Chapter 03
Two-car, one-car, or a full garage
Matthew and Jason built a 15-foot high by 24-foot wide two-car carport for one customer, which gives a sense of the scale we work at regularly. Smaller single-bay carports and full enclosed garages both come off the same crew and the same design process.
We also build arbors, which share a lot of the same post-and-beam approach as a carport frame at a smaller scale. If you're not sure which structure actually solves your problem, that's exactly what the on-site estimate is for.

A smaller job, same crew
Not every carport needs two bays
A single-vehicle carport in treated timber, set on a wooded lot with a metal roof to shed the rain, is one of the more common builds we run. It's a smaller footprint and a smaller price than a two-car structure, and it still gets the matching soffit and fascia option if you want the roofline to carry through from the house.
